Late last year, Tobin Scientific was selected by Bates College in Lewiston ME to handle the move of twelve labs, researchers, and teaching staff into the college’s new Bonney Science Center. The project, which kicked off on June 7th and is scheduled to be completed by August 14th, entailed moving assets from various locations around campus but focused on the emptying of the three-story Dana Chemistry Hall and relocation of faculty from the Carnegie Science Hall. Researchers brought with them their labs, classrooms, freezers, specimens & samples, and a vivarium. Tobin‘s role was much more than that of just traditional mover, as our teams met with Bates project leaders on a weekly basis commencing last fall, and the fixtures and specimens being moved required the specialized equipment and know-how of a life science relocation team.
